What's New at River Run?
June 2010 Issue.
The 2010 Vancouver Olympics have now come and gone. But the good feelings towards our neighbours from the south and parts beyond, along with the new found Canadian pride live on.

A sunny start to Summer at River Run Cottages.
10th Anniversary Special
It's been 10 years now that Barb and I have had the pleasure of being part of the River Run Lifestyle. Time has gone past so fast. Barb has now retired from Work Safe BC and now has focused her energies into the B&B.
June is a very special month for Barb and Will:
- on the 17th of June 1978 Barb and Will were married;
- on the 17th of June 2000 Barb and Will started their B&B career at River Run Cottages; and
- River Run Cottages is celebrating 17 years of operation from when the Waterlily was first opened as a B&B in June 1993
In honour of our anniversary and your patronage we have put together a special offering for those wishing to visit during 10-20 May and in the month of June 2010.
Book a two night or more visit and stay between 1-30 June and we will offer a 10% discount on the weekends and during the midweek.
To take advantage of this offer call or email us and refer to the 10th Anniversary Special rate.
We wish you all good health and look forward to your next visit.

Notes for our US Travellers
Beginning June 1st, 2009, U.S. and Canadian citizens 19 years and older who enter the U.S. at land and sea ports of entry from within the Western Hemisphere will need to present government issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license as proof of identity, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate or a passport.
Children age 18 and under will be able to enter with proof of citizenship (e.g. birth certificate). Verbal claims of citizenship and identity alone will not be sufficient to establish identity and citizenship for entry into the United States. The NEXUS card continues to be a viable (and time saving) option for land, sea and air border crossings.
WHAT THIS CHANGE MEANS: This fairly minor change is the first phase of the land and sea portion of the US’ Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI). Currently, oral declarations are accepted as a means of establishing citizenship and identity when crossing by land or sea. As of June 1st, 2009, government-issued documentation (as above) will be necessary when crossing a US land or sea border.
It is expected that a more substantial change, requiring a passport or NEXUS card for land and sea crossing will come anytime between June 2008 and June 2009, aligning the requirements of land and sea to those currently in place for cross border air travel. That date has not been released.
