Things to do in Ladner
The town of
Ladner is a leisurely ten-minute stroll along the dike. Browse through quaint
shops and enjoy a variety of restaurants. The local area is a farming community
and provides the area with fresh produce. Pick your own berries and walk
through the pumpkin patches that are seasonally available. The Reifel Bird
Sanctuary, home of over 200 bird species, is open year-round. Guests are
welcome to use our two-person kayak, rowboat or canoe for trips around the
Fraser River Estuary. Bicycles are also available.
Kayaking in Ladner: Borrow our 2-person Kayak
Explore the river just outside your cottage door. Enjoy a picnic on peaceful No
Name Island nearby or paddle along the fascinating
floathome community along the river. Watch the eagles, seals, river beaver,
otter and the many ducks and swans that grace our river.
Biking in Ladner: Borrow our Bikes
River Run is just a 5-minute walk from the town of Ladner on one side and miles
of country roads on the other. Bike along the river dike past our
quaint riverfront community, and along the river's edge, which will take you to
the ocean shore.
Bird Watching in Ladner
Any time of year you'll love the miles of peaceful paths that wind their way
through the Reifel Bird Sanctuary on nearby Westham Island.
You'll see ducks, geese, hummingbirds and rarely sighted west coast birds. Every
fall, 30,000 snow geese join us here - they know a good place when they see
one!
Enjoy Your Cottages
There are countless adventures to be had right in or around your peaceful cottage.
Use the barbecue to create a feast right on the dock or enjoy take out food
delivered from one of dozens great nearby restaurants. Play board or card games
in front of your wood burning fire or just relax and enjoy the selection of
easy-listening CDs provided in your cottage.
Shopping in Ladner or Vancouver
Shoppers will be thrilled with the variety of great shopping around River Run.
Whether you choose to visit the shops and boutiques in the quaint towns of
Ladner and Tsawwassen, or the cosmopolitan shopping in downtown Vancouver just
30 minutes away, you won't be disappointed.
Golfing in Ladner
The weather in Vancouver makes golf possible for almost
the whole season (if you don't mind a little rain in the winter).
There are several courses suitable for all levels of play located throughout
the Greater Vancouver area, including nearby Tsawwassen and Richmond.
